We Are Off Air! (Updated 2 Sept)
On Wednesday 01 September 2010 at approx 2pm our Broadband connection went off line. The representative from, our phone and Broadband provider, Cavendish Communications in Newhaven told us that BT has taken
over the telephone line which has terminated the Broadband service too.
Cold Call Sales
We did initially think that a cold sales call from an over zealous sales representative had taken a conversation as a firm order, but this was not the case.
Careless hands
It seems that a new resident with a similar sounding address to Seahaven FM had ordered a number of phone lines from BT who did not spot the difference in the address and installed the new residential numbers on Seahaven FM's phone
lines. This means Seahaven FM's office number was removed and our Broadband went with it.
Cavendish Communications have worked really hard to resolve this but have been unable, so far, to recover our phone lines from BT. They have had to place migration orders in to BT to have the lines returned, this will
probably not happen before the 13th/14th of September, but it is hoped that we will get our original number back. Apparently BT will be charging us the full rate for the migration back!
More information about this will be published here as we find out more, in the meantime listeners, supporters and advertisers, please accept our apologies as our programmes have had to be suspended until we have the
Broadband reconnected.
