UKIP's Alan Latham won the Town Council by-election for the Seaford East seat vacated by Andrew Hamilton in January.

Mr Latham commented on the New Statesman website:

"A year ago I polled 19.2% and came 3rd behind the Tories and LibDems. This result is stunning and reflects the advance of UKIP in recent opinion polls."

Results in full: A. Latham, UKIP, 428; J.Peterson, Con, 365; E.Hussain, Lib Dem, 344; H.Renson, Lab, 105.
Turnout: 32.2%

Peacehaven


Conservative  Rachel Coles won the by-election for  the Town's Peacehaven North seat.

Results in full: R.Coles, Con, 379; J.Carden, Lab, 277; S.Griffiths, Lib Dem, 214.
Turnout: 24.6%
