Le Top Dix Français de SeahavenFM.com is a miniature chart show which plays the top ten best selling singles in France.
The new Seahaven FM French Chart is out every Saturday afternoon at 1pm / 13:00 (style français!) but if you miss it or would like to listen again, you can catch the repeats at 3pm / 15:00 on Monday and 10pm / 22:00 on Wednesdays.
Give this show a try if you like chart music and would like to experience something just a little different without having a culture shock. You will hear well known British and American hits mixed in with tracks of similar styles by French and other European artists.
Magali was born in England and has always lived here but was brought up speaking French by her mother who is from St Quentin in Picardie. Furthermore, until the age of sixteen, all her summer holidays were spent in France with various family members. As a teenager, Magali lived for pop music and was obsessed with the Radio 1 Chart Show during the reign of Bruno Brookes and Mark Goodyear. During her summer holidays, her interest transferred perfectly naturally to the pop music scene in France and she followed the "Top 50" very closely on the French television channel M6.
When the radio station first started, Magali thought it would be interesting to include the odd pop song from France in the music selection, and seeing as strong links with our French neighbours is one of the characteristics of the Seahaven area, there was the perfect excuse to do this. She spoke to Nick about it and he wanted to take things a stage further and actually make a regular feature of it and suggested that she present a specialist show. So a surprised but excited Magali who had never expected such an opportunity gave some thought as to in which form French pop could make an appearance on the Seahaven FM schedule; and so the idea to have a chart show with a difference, was born.
You can occasionally catch Magali in other incarnations at Seahaven FM. She presents a late night programme on Valentine's day called "The Sexy Side of Valentine's" and has sat in for Mark Evans for the Friday night "80s Bliss" show during which she always includes a French hit from the decade.
