Mark has always had a love of music from an early age. As a toddler he entertained his captive audiences with a memorable rendition of The Beatles' 'She Loves You', complete with toy guitar! Apparently cine film proof does exist but is guarded jealously to prevent it reaching You Tube. Fast forward a few years and after a brief but successful foray into amateur dramatics we find Mark in his early twenties as a succesful local DJ with his own mobile disco, but unfortunately the day job and a move to the South Midlands put his career on hold.
In 2000 and back in his native Sussex, a chance meeting with a work colleague brought about the opportunity to get involved as a presenter with Hospital Radio at Eastbourne District General Hospital, where nine years on he still presents The Monday Evening Show. When Seahaven FM was formed, Mark was delighted to be included as part of the team bringing community radio to the Seahaven Area.
80s BLISS
Every Friday evening between 7pm and 10pm prepare yourselves for an exhilarating experience as Mark, aided and abetted by son Adam, takes you on a journey back to the 1980s. Relive the music, the comedy and major news stories of this defining decade.
Regular features on 80s Bliss include the ever popular and addictive 80s Mystery Track competition, where you'll be given a cryptic clue to solve. Pit your wits against other listeners to see if you can be the first to tell Mark & Adam the name of the 80s track that the clue refers to and the group or artist that had a hit with it.
There is also 80s Icons - where Mark & Adam will tell you the story behind an item that is so reminiscent of the 1980s...
... and classic 80s TV and film clips.
For those of us of a certain age 80s Bliss is three hours of pure nostalgia, for everyone else it is an experience.
You can also catch up with Mark on Tuesday evenings between 9pm and 11pm - relax and unwind to the sound of Evanly Love Songs. Mark hosts two hours of the greatest romantic tracks - the perfect end to your day. Why not ask Mark to dedicate a track to someone special in your life? We've even had a marriage proposal on air!
When Mark is not in the studio he enjoys spending time with his wife Manda and his two sons Adam and David. His hobbies include photography, local history, transport heritage and supporting his favourite football teams. Like fellow Seahaven DJ Paul Cartwright, Mark is a keen Arsenal fan and you'll also find him on the terraces at Priory Lane cheering on Eastbourne Borough.
Be sure to tune in and drop Mark an e-mail or text.
